WITCH or WHICH?
Are you one of those people who never know which is which? :-)
The 2 words sound exactly the same, but they have a different spelling and different meanings. They are homophones.
Let’s try and put an end to this dilemma:
A WITCH is a woman thought to have magic powers – like the lady in the picture. But then again, it is often said that all women are witches. ;-)
A wiTch usually wears a haT.
WHICH is used in questions and for adding information:
WHICH is WHICH?
They are so similar that I can’t tell them apart – I can’t tell WHICH is WHICH.
I don’t know WHICH one to choose.
Choose the one WHICH looks good on you.
It might be helpful to think of Which as a Wh-question word.
