Students sometimes make careless spelling mistakes. I thought this one could be a really good example for how bad it can get – you really don’t want to confuse these two words!
DAD = father vs. DEAD = no longer alive
There’s also a slight difference in pronunciation! DAD/dad/ vs. DEAD /dɛd/
Do you know? Why is the Dead Sea (in the example in the picture) called ‘DEAD’? Because the amount of salt in it makes it impossible for fish and sea plants to live in it – so it’s practically dead!
